How much would you guess a 3-iron horse living quarters trailer weighs? A solid steel, 3 horse trailer with housing. semi-trailer, probably 30ft long. Horse area around 7x7 or maybe a little bigger.
If any of you have trailers in steel and could make a proposal for weight, I just want to have a rough idea.
How weigh empty? How much would you say it would weigh with three horses, water tanks loaded, and camping equipment?
Is a brief google and found three that look like aluminum:
£ 10.400: http://sandwfeeds.com/gooseneck-horse-tr ...
http://sandwfeeds.com/2-horse-trailers/2 ...
£ 14,000: http://sandwfeeds.com/3-horse-trailers/3 ...
A steel model will be much heavier. Even the trailers are too heavy to be towed by a pickup truck, and would need a special truck for transport. Even a pick-up 3 / 4 or 1 ton can safely haul the weight.
You could also add weight to:
3 people (500 pounds)
3 horses (3,000 pounds)
gear / water / etc. (1,000 lbs)
That would be my riddle gross.
Edit: Found another interesting site
Http: / / www.nyshc.org / currentissues / CDL% 2 ...
which says:
"TABLE OF COMBINATIONS AND GVW weight of the trailer
Tractor and TRAILER COMBINATIONS
GVWR'S for pickups (Chevrolet USED For illustration)
1500 Series (Known as ½ ton) £ 7,000
Series 2500 (known as 3 / 4 ton) 8600 pounds
3500 Series (Known as 1 ton) £ 11,400
TRAILER WEIGHT
The weights shown here are Double D Trailers in North Carolina. I use them because they make the trailer is made of steel and are heavy-duty trailers.
I also used the style upholstery or style residential neighborhoods because they are heavier. If someone uses a trailer purebred, it will be lighter.
2 Horse Trailer with Tack Room £ 4,400
3 Horse Trailer with Tack Room £ 5,100
4 Horse Trailer with Tack Room £ 5500
3 horse trailer with accommodation * £ 11.500
* This is a monster, fully equipped.
combined weight
normal.
2500 Pickup horses plus 3 plus 3 horse trailer
8600 + 5100 + 3300 = £ 17,000
Extreme case
3500 Pickup horses plus 3 plus 3 horse LQ
11,400 + 11,500 + 3300 = 26,200 "
This is the Agricultural Council of New York, which should be a good source.
