I just bought a 400cc scooter, I take the class two months from now, can I register after I take two months? I bought the scooter to an individual and I want to wait to enroll after completing the class.
Your local DMV is the best source for this information. It may be very different from one place to another. Here where I live, if the registration lapses, regardless of ownership, a reinstatement fee must be paid when it is re-registered, you can avoid this by saying it is a new record, they hit you with any sales tax, as if you purchased a retail ... check with your local regulations ...
In NSW, if the registration has expired scooter you do not need to notify the FSA until you re-register your name. If the scooter is currently registered, you must transfer your name within 14 days. If you do not have a learner's permit, you must go to the RTA and have the same ID you need, when you pass the test of the learner so they can create an account for you. Then put all your papers when you test the learner.
