How long can you go 5HP Go-Kart km / h? I am in the midst of assembling my own custom go-kart. I bought a 5 hp engine. The rear wheels are about 14 "and the front wheels are about 12". I do not know what it's called when it accelerates through both wheels, but it only accelerated by a wheel. Is about 145 lbs. What do you think is my MPH No Go-Kart?
This calculator is interesting, but just gives you gear ratios. It does nothing to predict your potential for higher speeds. Yes, you need a gear that will allow the engine to its total power. But you have to rely on physics.
Your weight is a big difference.
The actual speed at the top of your shopping is limited by the weight of the truck (with you in it) and engine power.
A 5 HP motor can generate ft-lbs/sec 2750.
You must determine the weight of the basket with you in it. For this example, we assume that we can get up to 250 lbs.
The only thing you do not know too well, is the resistance of the car (both rolling resistance and wind resistance). If you can get up to 25% by weight of the cart, you do very well. This would mean resistance of 250 lbs x 25%, or 63 lbs.
To find the maximum theoretical speed, you take the ft-lbs/sec, and divide by the resistance of the cart.
We can calculate:
2750 / (25% x 250) = 44 m / sec, or 30 mph.
If you and the cart weighs 300 pounds, then the calculation would be:
2750 / (25% x 300) = 36.7 m / sec, or 25 mph.
You see, if you can make the weight or resistance of the lower rack, then you will obviously increase the speed.

between the tire size measure around the tire, best way is to mark the tire and a place on the ground roll the tire until the tire is placed on the return to earth again and mark the ground , then point and measure a b Field,
if it is a 5hp it will be about 3600rpm, it is industry standard. then measure teeth on the axle, and the teeth on the clutch. it will be a close measure of your speed. your usual weight have little effect on top speed only on your acceleration, but if you want your top speed will waive this anyway, karts are give and take of the superior speed and acceleration, is preferable to find a middle ground, about 35 mph will still give you a good takeoff and is fast enough for a basket
if you right you're looking to tune up 60-70 Ive got one with a 5hp mine will run 78, but I aleast a couple grand in the engine, but does it take to store and cart ask them to grant you and makeing a kart kart street or off-road and if you decide to seel the engine let me know?
speed is determined by the size of the gear on the motor shaft [small] and [high gear Axel] 14 in the wheels are huge,,, top speed could b in the range of 30-40 mph, but more top speed slower acceleration
